Terms of Use
The agreement between you and UroCompanion. Last updated 28 June 2026.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of UroCompanion (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Educational use only — not medical advice
UroCompanion is a study aid for urology residents, fellows, and students. Its content — including topics, procedures, guideline summaries, questions, and answers from the UroBot AI assistant — is provided for education and revision only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for official guidelines, local protocols, formal training, or your own clinical judgment. Never rely on it for a decision affecting patient care; always verify against primary sources. UroCompanion makes no warranty that the content is accurate, complete, or current.
1. What UroCompanion is
UroCompanion brings urology topics, surgical approaches and procedures, guideline summaries, practice questions, and flashcards into one place, alongside UroBot — an AI assistant that answers from the site’s own content and links to the source page. The Service is a study companion, not a clinical or diagnostic tool.
2. Your account
You can read most content as a guest. An account adds personal features such as bookmarks, highlights, notes, flashcard scheduling, personal tests, and progress tracking. To create one you must provide accurate information and be a medical professional, trainee, or student, or otherwise have a legitimate educational reason to use the Service.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that could harm, disable, or impair it;
- share your account, or scrape, copy, resell, or redistribute the content except as allowed below;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, its systems, or other users’ data; or
- use the content to provide medical advice to others as though it were a clinical authority.
4. Content and intellectual property
The Service and its content are owned by UroCompanion or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may use the content for your own personal, non-commercial study. Anything you create within the Service — such as your own notes, flashcards, and highlights — remains yours; by storing it on the Service you allow us to host and display it back to you so the features work.
5. The UroBot AI assistant
UroBot answers using the site’s verified content rather than the open internet, and links to its sources. Even so, AI answers can be incomplete or wrong. Treat UroBot as a study aid, check its sources, and never act on its output for patient care without independent verification.
6. Privacy — how we handle your data
To run your account we collect the details you provide (such as your name, username, email, and any optional level, institution, country, and city) and the study activity you generate on the Service (such as highlights, notes, flashcards, test results, and progress). We use this only to provide and improve the Service. Questions you ask UroBot may also be stored to cache and speed up common answers; cached questions are kept separately from your identity and are removed when no longer in active use.
Your data is stored on secured infrastructure (Amazon Web Services). We do not sell your personal data. You can view and update most of your details from your account settings, and you can ask us to delete your account and associated data by emailing urocompanion@gmail.com.
7. Plans and payment
UroCompanion is free to use.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content is accurate or complete.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, UroCompanion will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any clinical or other decision made in reliance on the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update these Terms from time to time; if we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms. We may also change, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, and we may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms. You can stop using the Service and close your account at any time.
